Reese Witherspoon

Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon was born on 22nd of March 1976 at Nashville, Tennessee, USA. She was born to the couple John Witherspoon, a doctor by profession and Betty Witherspoon (a doctor and professor). Her brother John Draper Witherspoon was born in 1973. Reese Witherspoon got her education from Harpeth Hall, Nashville, TN Stanford University, Stanford. She is also majored in English Literature.

The talented Witherspoon appeared in commercials and modeling jobs only at the tender age of seven.

She won a 10-state talent search at the age of 11 and left her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, to play a significant role in 'The Man In The Moon' in the year 1991. She immediately made her appearance in the TV movie 'Wild flower'.

She has also acted in 'To Save My Child' in 1992, 'Jack the Bear' in 1993 and in 'SFW' in the year 1994. Reese Witherspoon carefully monitors each role before accepting them. She only acted in such movies where she got interesting and challenging scripts. She opts for artistic value rather than focusing on high salaries. So she got high profile roles in 'Twilight' in 1998, 'Pleasantville' in 1998, 'Cruel Intentions' in 1999 and 'Best Laid Plans' in 1999. She got Movieline Young Hollywood award for 'Pleasantville'. Then Witherspoon returned to television to make a guest appearance on the comedy 'Friends' only for a short time. Then she made her come back to modeling, which got her fame in Hollywood when her six story high image in a GAP advertisement.

She got the most acclaim in 'Election' in 1999 where her role was hugely appreciated. She also got 'National Society of Film Critics’ Best Actress' award, an 'Online Film Critics' Society' award, a 'National Society of Film Critics’ award', and an 'Independent Spirit' award. She was also nominated for a 'Golden Globe' award and a 'Los Angeles Film Critics’ award'.

She also made her appearance in 'Desert Blue' and 'American Psycho'. With actor Ryan Phillippe she was caste in Cruel 'Intentions'.

As far her personal life goes she met actor Ryan Phillippe in 1997 at her 21st birthday party. They later on decided to tie the knot and she got married on June 5, 1999 in Charleston, North Carolina and gave birth to daughter, Ava on September 9, 1999. She has also become a producer herself. She produced 'Slow Motion' which also features herself. Her next passion is to one day become a screen writer.
