Daniela Pestova

Daniela Pestova was born on 14 October 1970 at Teplice, Czechoslovakia. As a child she had plans to attend college and major in Education. She was born and raised at that time when her country was facing huge political chaos. She could not persue her dreams of education as Daniela was discovered in Prague when she was 19 years old by Dominique Caffin of Madison agency. He was the man who convinced her to enter a modeling contest which she won.

She then went to Paris to sign a contract with his agency. In the year 1990 Paul Marciano, president and creative director of GUESS?, Inc. was impressed by Daniela`s looks. He had a great reputation for picking out hugely talented persons that will become the supermodels of future from the masses of unknown. Then Daniela went on to appear in GUESS? ads in 1990 with Claudia Schiffer.

Daniela was an immediate success as she became a super star over night and that happened only a year after leaving her homeland. The photos were captured by Ellen Von Unwerth in Morocco. Both Daniela and Claudia appeared in some of the most remembered images of GUESS?. This 5 feet 11 inches girl with blonde hair and blue eyes had the similar look of an American girl.

She was fluent in Italian, Russian, French and Czech, but could not speak English. But in the year 1992, she moved to New York. She was hugely successful there when she appeared on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Elle, Marie Claire and Glamour. After couple of years in 1994 she captured a huge contract with L`Oréal thus becoming a spokesperson and print model. She also appeared for Victoria`s Secret. She also had two calendars and in the year of 1995 and 1998, she appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition and was the cover model in 1995.

She also has a great ability other than her talent. She can change her looks at ease therefore she was nicknamed `The Chameleon`. She also gives a lot of attention towards her health. She wants to become a translator after she ends her modelling career.

As far her private life goes she got married to the former CEO of the Fashion Cafe Tommaso Buti, and they have a son, Yannick Fausto born in the year 1996.

She seperated from Buti in the year 1998. When she gets enough spare time she enjoys walking on the beach with her two Jack Russell terriers, Tino and Soda. But she enjoys the most when it is cold and not crowded outside. She is a health conscious person and to remain in the best possible shape she does not eat sweets like cookies or chocolate and also bread which is her weakness.

She plans to have more children after she finishes her career but presently she is very much concentrating on her modelling.
