Chyna

Chyna was born on 27 December 1970 at Rochester, New York, USA. Chyna`s real name is Joanie Laurer.

She was born to the couple of Joe and Tina but they got divorced when she was very young. China said that her father was addicted towards alcohol and her mother fetched a new guy every new year. Giving an interview she once said that weight lifting was the only way to opt out from that situation. She was brought up by her sister Kathy who took every notice of Chyna.

Chyna`s first boyfriend was Gerry Blais who was her weight-trainer.

She worked as a belly dancer, a pager salesperson and also had a band before she become serious about her professional wrestling career. She traveled all over the world in thoose early days. Chyna developed this passion when one night she and her sister Kathy was watching a WWF fight. She got admitted to `Killer` Kowalski`s Wrestling School and graduated as one of the best. She was the only girl there.

After finishing her graduation from Kowalski`s Wrestling School she met Triple H and Shawn Michaels. They helped her immensely in her new WWF career. At this point of life she decided to change her name to Chyna. The fans liked her and nicknamed her as `The Ninth Wonder of the World`. She became the first woman to have competed in the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring tournament. In the year 1999, she lifted the Intercontinental title by defeating Jeff Jarrett thus becoming the first lady to capture a men`s title.

The most interesting fact about Chyna is that she can bench-press up to 325lbs.
