Heather Dean Locklear was born on 25th September 1961 at Los Angeles California to the couple of Bill Locklear and Diane Locklear. She was the youngest of 4 sisters. She got her education from the University of California at Los Angeles. This blue-eyed sensation at first got into UCLA as a psychology major. At that moment of life she was approached and encouraged by a casting director to take commercial acting class. After getting into it she became serious about her acting career and began to do guest TV roles. She started with `Chips`, `Eight Is Enough`, `The Fall Guy` and `Twirl` in the 80`s.
But the most promising aspect of her starting career was her work for television producer `Aaron Spelling` when in the year 1982 Heather appeared as `Samantha Josephine Dean Carrington Fallmont` or `Sammi Jo` in the successful soap `Dynasty`. She also appeared as `Officer Stacy Sheridan` on `T.J. Hooker` while doing `Dynasty` but she was most liked and appreciated for her 7-year role as Sammi. Then she was offered a role in the horror film `Firestarter` which also starred Drew Barrymore. Then she went onto to appear in `The Return of the Swamp Thing` in the year 1989. In the following year she was adorned with a `Razzie Award` for her role as `Abby Arcane` for Worst Actress in a Film.
The year 1985 was a golden day of her life as she married `Mötley Crüe` drummer Tommy Lee. But this did not stop her from performing as she went on doing movies like `Rich Men`, `Single Women`, `Lethal Charm`, `Dynasty: The Reunion`, `Highway Heartbreaker` and `Illusions`.
When she was discovered by Aaron Spelling in the 1980`s he wanted Heather to appear in the primetime soap `Melrose Place` which was not doing so well at that time but Heather thought she was not the right person as she was too old for the role. But to her surprise she was appreciated when she appeared as a shrewish blond `Amanda Woodward`. She found out that she was just the right person who boosted its low ratings and added some spice to the soap. Amanda was such a typical character that all the audiences wanted to hate but couldn`t. She was liked by the critics and it became clear when she was nominated for the `Best Actress` for 4 consecutive years for her work in `Melrose Place`. From 1993 to 1999 while appearing in `Melrose Place` Heather guest-starred as `Wayne`in `Wayne`s World`, in `The First Wives Club`, in `Money Talks` and in `Double Tap`.
As the dream run of `Melrose Place`s` came to a successful end Heather was invited to join the cast of `Spin City`. No points for guessing the show was a hit as the chemistry between Michael J. Fox and Heather worked wonders. She proved to the whole world again that she was made for the television when she appeared as `Caitlin Moore` in `Spin City`. After the departure of Michael J. Fox she co-starred with her Money Talks co-star Charlie Sheen.
As far her private life goes she divorced Tommy Lee in the year 1992 and later on went on to marry Bon Jovi guitarist `Richie Sambora`in the year 1994 at Paris. In the year 1997 she became a mother when she gave birth to her first daughter `Ava Elizabeth`.
