Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox was born on 15th of June in 1964 at Birmingham, Alabama. As a child she was very close to her father who was a building contractor.

Her parents got separated when Cox was 10 years old. After the divorce she began to stay with her mother, brother and two sisters. She always felt that her mother was responsible behind the divorce. But as time passed by, her mother became her best friend. She went on to attend the Mountain Brook High and simultaneously worked in a supply store in the afternoon. She bought a blue Datsun 210 car at the age of 16 years by saving enough money from her job. As a child she also took part in several activities like cheerleading, tennis, and swimming.

Cox completed her graduation from high school in 1982. After finishing her graduation she began studying architecture at Mt. Vernon College in Washington. Cox met Ian Copeland when she was in the last year of her college. Then they started working together for a New York City music agent and after a while they fell in love. Cox's desire was to enter the modeling world at that time. But Copeland wanted her to try acting as well. Then she appeared in commercials for Noxema and Maybelline and captured a small role in `As the World Turns`.

In 1984 Cox got huge recognition when Bruce Springsteen danced with her in the stage at end of his video `Dancing in the Dark`. She was paid $350 for all this but the spotlight she received later helped her to get works in the industry.

The following year she appeared in the NBC series `Misfits of Science` which was not completed. Then came her `Family Ties` where she portrayed Michael J. Fox's girlfriend Lauren. After this she did not got enough roles. But in the year 1994 she got her biggest opportunity when she appeared in `Ace Ventura: Pet Detective` as Jim Carrey's boss. Within a few weeks Cox captured a role in `Friends`.

She is very serious about her future and she believes that, she has more to offer in this industry.
